Amarnath Yatra: Senior Army Commander Reviews Security and Readiness

Srinagar- Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday reviewed the overall security situation and operational readiness for the annual Amarnath Yatra which is due to start on June 30.
Dwivedi, who arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday for a three-day visit to the valley, would visit outposts on the line of control and the hinterland to review the overall security situation in the Kashmir valley, a security official said. Defense speech.

He said the army commander accompanied by the Chinese corps commander, Lt. Gen. ADS Aujla, today visited various places and formations in the hinterland.
Dwivedi, he said, was briefed on the counter-terrorism grid, development work and the current security situation.
“The Army Commander also reviewed the security and operational readiness of Amarnath Yatra. He held a detailed briefing with all stakeholders and appreciated the efforts undertaken for a peaceful and incident-free Yatra,” the official said. spokesperson.
During the day, he said, the Northern Army commander also addressed the media on the outlines of the armed forces’ Agnee Veer initiative.
“The army commander, while interacting with the troops over tea, praised the soldiers for conducting fair operations with precision, ensuring no collateral damage. He appreciated the excellent activities of soldier-citizen connection, which have resulted in an overall reduction in terrorist recruitment,” he said.
The spokesperson further said that the army commander arrived at the Chinar Corps headquarters later in the day where he was briefed by the Chinar Corps GOC on the overall security situation and the measures instituted to counter the design of opponents.
