Army chief meets with Mexican army commander

Army Chief of Staff Gen. SM Shafiuddin Ahmed met with Mexican Army Commander Gen. Eufemio Alberto Ibarra Flores on Monday at army headquarters.
The two exchanged greetings and discussed the existing friendly relations between the armies of the two countries, read a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the public relations division of the Bangladesh armed forces.
The chief of the Bangladeshi army delivered a speech in the presence of all the main staff officers (PSO). Later, General Flores also took the floor and prospects for future collaboration between the two countries were identified during the meeting.
Previously, General Flores paid homage to the martyrs of the Bangladesh War of Independence at Shikha Anirban (Eternal Flame) in Dhaka cantonment. He also received an honor guard from the Bangladesh Army.
The delegation of five members of the Mexican army, led by General Eufemio Alberto Ibarra Flores, came to Bangladesh for an eight-day visit on December 11.
The team must visit various historical facilities throughout their visit and participate in the Grand Victory Day Parade.
