Jammu: The army on Friday paid rich tributes to its four personnel killed in a Fidayean attack on its camp in Rajouri district of Jammu, after which their remains were transported to their respective places of origin .

The Northern Army Commander, Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi, and senior military and civilian officials paid tribute to the slain personnel by laying wreaths.
The four soldiers were killed on Thursday in a pre-dawn strike by two militants on the army camp in Rajouri district, which marked the return of “fidayans” (suicide bombers) to Jammu- and Kashmir after more than three years.
The two assailants, believed to be from the Pakistani group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), were shot dead by members of the security forces.
The army members killed were identified as Subedar Rajendra Prasad from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, Rifleman Lakshmanan D from Madurai district in Tamil Nadu, Rifleman Manoj Kumar from Faridabad in Haryana and Rifleman Nishant Malik from Hisar district in Haryana.
After the wreath laying ceremony, the remains were flown to Delhi on a military plane. From there, these will be taken to their respective hometowns to perform the last rites, the defense PRO said.
