In a clear reference to Armenia, which was defeated in the 2020 war, Heidari said: “A possible weakness of one country to protect its borders does not give any reason for other countries to change borders. The Islamic Republic will not allow it. There have been recent signs of Azerbaijan flexing its muscles in the narrow strip of the southern province of Armenia that connects Iran with Armenia, Georgia and beyond to the north.
General Heidari further stated that the Iranian military exercise “aims to assess and promote the combat readiness of Iranian forces, as several other military exercises are underway in our neighborhood.” He added: “There have been four or five exercises north of our borders in the past month and currently Turkey is also carrying out another military exercise near our northern borders.”
Heidari, however, insisted that Iran has never attacked any country for the past two centuries, and that Iran has insisted on Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity while Karabakh was under occupation. Armenian.
He insisted that transit routes in the region should be kept safe and secure, and transit routes for trade and energy transfer should be respected by countries in the region. He was obviously referring to the obstruction of the transit of Iranian trackers through Azerbaijan in recent months.

The account replied that it appears that the Azeris have forgotten that the Iranian exercise began in reaction to a trilateral exercise led by Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan in the region and that the Republic of Azerbaijan violated the Caspian legal regime by extending this exercise to the Caspian Sea.
September 30, Chamroush Twitter account posted a video showing Iranian forces repeating part of the military exercise by bombing hills in the border area.

In the Iranian press last week, the only anti-Azeri commentary was observed in the Daily Kayhan, close to the office of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Kayhan wrote: “Iran will not tolerate changes to its northern borders which aim to undermine the interests of Iran and Russia. While pointing the forefront of his analysis to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kayhan also attacked Armenia and accused President Nikol Pashinyan of an act of reason against Armenia by agreeing to a Turkish-American plot. “
