In a meeting on Tuesday with foreign military attachés residing in Iran, the Iranian army’s deputy chief for coordination, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, said the country had achieved self-sufficiency and scientific capabilities in the field of military power and advanced manufacturing. weapons.
“Apart from progressive relations with various countries, Iran is engaged in military cooperation with some of them and is also willing to share its advanced scientific and military technologies with other friendly and neighboring countries,” he added. .
He said neighboring countries, in turn, must understand the nature of Iran’s power, as “regional stability and security will be established on the basis of strength and mutual interaction.”
Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and achieved self-sufficiency in the production of important military equipment and systems.
The Islamic Republic claims that its military power poses no threat to other countries and that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
Sayyari also said Iran has been facing problems establishing ties with some of its neighbors since being subjected to the “most oppressive and harshest” sanctions in the history of international relations.
“We believe, however, that these issues can be resolved through interaction and dialogue and that there is no need for help from foreign powers,” he added. “Deeper neighborhood ties will bring greater economic benefits to the West Asian region.”
The Islamic Republic has always supported regional nations, never violated their rights and recognized the independence of all countries, Sayyari said.
The senior commander reiterated Iran’s friendly and brotherly policy towards its neighbors.
He said the Islamic Republic had never cast a greedy eye on any country and believed, based on Islamic teachings, that common interests and regional and collective security could be achieved without the presence of extra-regional states. .
