“The army adheres to its neutrality and does not support any party against another, but rather intervenes when there is a problem or friction to prevent the situation from escalating,” the army commander added.
He called on the parties concerned by the elections to assume their national responsibility and to cooperate with the military establishment to reach this deadline calmly and democratically.
As for the unfortunate incident of the Tripoli boat, Aoun claimed that “the military is continuing its research and has communicated with a number of friendly countries to help recover the boat”.
