LG, Army Commander, brings his greetings on the 50th day of the raising of the White Knight Corps – The Dispatch

Nagrota: Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Northern Commander Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi hosted a motorcycle rally on Monday to mark the 50th day of the raising of the White Knight Corps in Nagrota.

In a ceremony at the military station of Nagrota, Lieutenant Governor Sinha and Lieutenant General Dwivedi saluted all ranks of the corps, which was raised in June 1972 as part of the army’s northern command. said an official spokesperson.

The corps has a rich history of bravery in wars and has performed commendably in operations along the Line of Control and in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lt. Gen. Manjinder Singh, the General Officer Commanding the White Knight Corps, paid floral tributes to fallen heroes during a solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal in Nagrota.

The White Knight Corps Golden Jubilee celebrations began with the motorcycle rally – “Veer Smriti Yatra” – which was launched from Lam to Rajouri on June 8. The rally reached Nagrota on Monday, the spokesman said.

Riders paid their respects to the brave at all war memorials in the corps area, he said.

The celebrations at Nagrota began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the LG in the presence of a huge gathering of all ranks of the White Knight Corps.

A short film on the glorious history of the White Knight Corps and the motorcycle rally was screened on this occasion.

During his address, Lt. Gen. Manjinder Singh welcomed the LG and other distinguished guests and assured them of the unwavering support of all ranks of the corps to the national cause.

The Corps Commander also highlighted the major initiatives taken by the Indian Army for the people apart from keeping the borders active.

On this occasion, Lieutenant Governor Sinha commended all ranks of the White Knight Corps and appreciated their exemplary contribution to maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.

He also appreciated the contribution of the corps in all the wars fought since its lifting and its tireless efforts to ensure the safety and security of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by eradicating terrorism from the region.
