Earlier in the ceremony, he presented the 40-unit GOC-en-C Appreciation and 26-unit GOC-en-C “Certificates of Appreciation” for their overall “outstanding” and “distinguished” performance in the theater of command.
GOC-in-C Appreciation was given for unit performance in Operation Meghdoot, Operation Rakshak, Operation Northern Borders and other command operations.
GOC-in-C Certificates of Appreciation were awarded for unit performance in Operation Snow Leopard, which was launched after China refused to back down and restore the status quo ante in eastern China. Ladakh.
“The ceremony was a solemn occasion to appreciate and recognize the professionalism in the operational roles performed by the units during their tenure in Northern Command,” a defense spokesperson said.
