Pune: Southern Army Commander JS Nain reviews medical college and intelligence school

Lieutenant General JS Nain, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command, visited the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD) in Pune on Saturday and reviewed the installations and projects of the first two establishments of the armed forces.
During his visit to AFMC, the Army Commander interacted with college faculty and appreciated the efforts not only to ensure the robust physical and mental health of the troops under their charge, but also to be the cradle of the military medical leadership by producing competent undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing graduates over the years.
As part of the AFMC tour, LGen Nain visited the skills lab which houses simulators, mannequins and state-of-the-art equipment for medical training. He also interacted with cadets taking the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course as well as medical and nursing cadets and spoke to them about holistic growth with a focus on curricular and extracurricular activities.
The army commander also visited the MINTSD, the center of excellence for training military personnel on all aspects relating to intelligence in the Indian army. The establishment provides training for personnel of all services, paramilitary forces and armed forces of friendly foreign countries.
He appreciated the systematic training provided at the MINTSD, which encompasses the latest developments in the field of intelligence and the efforts and initiatives undertaken with regard to the administrative configuration. He concluded his visit by acknowledging the efforts made to enhance the stature of the establishment and make MINTSD one of the main training institutes of the armed forces.
