Qatar will spare no effort to help the Lebanese people (FM assistant)
HE the Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs, Dr. Mohamed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi, welcomed the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to provide a contribution from Qatar worth $60 million in support of the Lebanese army, emphasizing that Qatar will spare no effort to always help the brotherly Lebanese people at all times.

Acting Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati thanked Qatar for announcing the contribution of $60 million to support the Lebanese army.
For his part, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and MinisterThe Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated that the announcement of this contribution comes within the framework of Qatar’s unwavering commitment to support Lebanon and to stand alongside the brotherly Lebanese people, in addition to its firm belief in the importance and necessity of joint Arab action.
He said, in an interview with the Lebanese television channel ‘MTV’, that this aid also stems from Qatar’s strong commitment to Lebanon and its position with the brotherly Lebanese people.
On Thursday, Qatar announced that it had provided $60 million to support the Lebanese army. Qatar announced last July that it would support the Lebanese army with 70 tons of food every month for a year.
In this regard, HE Dr. al-Khulaifi drew attention to the efforts of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and its many contributions to Lebanon, including those related to the health sector in the treatment of Covid-19. , its support for the development plans that the Fund wishes to present in Lebanon, as well as what it is related to the educational aspect of the construction of a certain number of schools and the granting of a certain number of scholarships for Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian students in Lebanese universities.
He expressed Qatar’s thanks to brotherly Lebanon for its generous invitation to host the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers, stressing the importance of participating in this meeting and stressing Qatar’s desire to participate in the Arab consultative summits, which include discussion sessions for many of the Arab issues, especially the Palestinian issue.
