Rogue DRC soldier shot dead in Rwanda gets honor guard at home – Taarifa Rwanda

The rogue Congolese soldier who went on a rampage Friday crossing the border shooting and wounding Rwandan security officers guarding the border was later summarily eliminated 25 meters inside Rwanda.
In a brief statement, RDF said “the two Rwandan policemen were injured before an officer on duty returned fire to the soldier, who was killed 25 meters inside Rwanda.”
Rwanda subsequently informed the DRC authorities and the expanded Joint Verification Mechanism (FMV) who arrived at the scene. The lifeless Congolese soldier was found with marijuana stuffed in his jacket as he lay next to a pool of blood and a muted AK 47 rifle.
His body was loaded into a military ambulance and taken back to the DRC where an honor guard was mounted by Congolese police just across the border with Rwanda.
“Parade of shame, they send their soldier to shoot and kill security personnel and Rwandan civilians, now they honor his body as a hero,” reacted John Mugisha, a social commentator.
In another diplomatic move, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) closed its border with Rwanda after a rogue Congolese soldier was shot dead.
The DRC government has ordered the border with Rwanda to be closed from 3:00 p.m. local time (13:00 GMT), according to a statement from the office of the governor of South Kivu.
According to DRC government spokesman Patrick Muyaya, an investigation has been opened. “The government is closely monitoring the situation in Goma following the incident at the ‘Petite Barrière’ border with Rwanda,” Muyaya said on his Twitter account.
