Jaipur: Lieutenant General JS Nain, Army Commander of the Southern Command, visited the Desert Corps headquarters at Jodhpur military station from December 26 to 27, 2021.
The Army Commander reviewed the operational readiness of the formation and was briefed by Lieutenant-General PS Minhas, the commanding general officer of the operational, training and administrative activities carried out by the formation. The Army Commander appreciated the high standards of training presented by the Desert Corps during the recently conducted Exercise DAKSHIN SHAKTI & SAGAR SHAKTI.
The Army Commander interacted with the staff and appreciated the efforts of all ranks to maintain high morale and operational readiness at all times. The Army Commander urged all ranks to be constantly prepared for any challenge, to remain professionally strong, competent, and to constantly evolve tactics, techniques and procedures to combat “future wars”. He then visited the newly renovated Konark War Memorial which was dedicated to all the Bravehearts of Konark Corp who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the territorial integrity of the nation.
The Army Commander also attended a prestigious Army Commander’s Polo Cup match, interacted with the participating teams and presented prizes to the winners.
Accompanying the Army Commander was Ms. Anita Nain, Regional President, AWWA who interacted with the families of troops stationed in Jodhpur and was briefed on family welfare activities and initiatives at the military station.
