The Polish peacekeeping initiative does not have unequivocal support, it is worth talking about the union with the countries ready to fight for the victory of Ukraine

Poland’s initiative on a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine does not enjoy unequivocal support within NATO, therefore it may not be necessary to wait for the decision of the whole of NATO, but it will be enough to unite with the countries which are ready to really and boldly fight for the victory of Ukraine, declared the ambassador of Ukraine in Poland, Andriy Deschytsia.
“At the moment, this initiative does not yet enjoy unequivocal support within NATO. It turns out that NATO should also take these decisions unanimously. It is possible that this system of decision-making decision-making also requires some adjustments, given a real and not a fictional war,” Deschytsia said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
The ambassador stressed that such a military and peacekeeping mission was necessary.
“Not only for the image, but also for the practical support of Ukraine, it is important that European countries that are not members of NATO or the EU are ready to join such a mission. be it not necessary to wait for the decision of the whole of NATO, perhaps it will be enough to unite with the countries which are ready to fight really and boldly for the victory of Ukraine,” Deschytsia said.
He noted that since Poland presented such an initiative, it is ready both to lead it and to be one of the leaders of this coalition.
“I think there are already countries ready to join, at least the Czech Republic and Slovenia. The prime ministers of these countries, as well as the leaders of the Polish government, recently visited Ukraine, are ready to “to join this project. Also, the Baltic countries will probably be able to join. But I also hear that Denmark and the United Kingdom are also ready to join. There may be others who want to join, ” Deschytsia added.
At the same time, the Ambassador stressed that Poland takes the possible threat of an attack from the Russian Federation seriously.
“At the end of last week, he adopted a relevant law on the defense of Poland. This law provides for the doubling of the Polish armed forces, up to 300,000 people, the question of providing Poland with modern weapons and to strengthen the Polish and territorial armed forces”. defense units,” Deschytsia said.
