Tonto Dikeh’s ex-lover arrested for breach of public order, escorts detained – DIG

Police said Prince Kpokpogri, the lover of a Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh has been arrested for attempting to disturb public order at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Maitama, Abuja.
The suspect reportedly visited the luxury hotel on Monday with two police guards in an attempt to retrieve a Lexus SUV parked by Dikeh, who was staying there.
He allegedly blocked the vehicle with his car and, after receiving a warning, his police escorts threatened to shoot a hotel employee.
The hotel management then invited the police, who took all parties to the Federal Department of Criminal Research and Intelligence.
Confirmation of the incident during a telephone interview with PUNCH Metro On Tuesday, Deputy Inspector General of Police, FCIID, Joseph Egbunike, said he had ordered a police commissioner to arrest Kpokpogri.
According to him, the police escorts were also arrested for failing to control the situation at the hotel, adding that Kpokpogri had been released on bail.
Dikeh and his ex-lover have been in the news lately after their messy breakup, the latter accusing the actress of promiscuity, while she described him as a blackmailer.
The DIG rejected reports that he arrested Kpokpogri to please Dikeh.
He said: “I only met the suspect and the complainant for the first time yesterday (Monday); I don’t know where they came from. It has to do with the criminal problem that occurred at the Transcorp Hilton hotel. We went there to do a threat analysis that someone was trying to provoke a situation.
“So I sent my commissioner to bring them to be surprised to see both parties. We interrogated them and detained my police officers who were there but could not contain the situation. They are now in the cell. I know by today everyone must have calmed down and thought about what they did and what they didn’t and the problem would be solved.
“The suspect has been released on bail. Besides, the issue we are dealing with is the disruption of public space, not their relationship, which another curator deals with. ”
